Casinos have developed this reputation for being on a completely different plane of existence from the rest of the world. This feeling makes many people wonder if there is a different dress code for casinos than other areas in the world.
Here’s a look at some of the myths people have about casino dress codes.
Myth 1 – You Must Dress in Fancy Clothing
People have developed the idea that if you are visiting a casino you must dress as if it were a formal occasion. This myth came as a result of many people using casinos as a way to enjoy a night out on the town. The reality is you can dress any way you want at a casino as long as it is within the proper city or state laws.
Myth 2 – Casinos Have Dress Codes
This myth is partially true. Some of the higher end casinos do have dress codes and will enforce them. This is so they can maintain a level of seniority amongst the other casinos. However, most casinos just require that you wear shirt, shoes, and pants to enter a casino.
Myth 3 – Only Poker Players Dress in PJs
Everyone has seen poker players dressed in their PJ pants and lounging at the poker table. The truth is as long as it is within the dress code for the casino, anyone can wear PJ pants. In fact, you’ll probably see people sitting at the slot machines wearing their comfy pants.
Casinos are behind a lot of the myths and legends but as far as dress code goes, wear what you want and have fun.
